Your project, phase by phase.

A standardized process across all disciplines.

  1. We meet, and we listen.

Tell us what you are building, where, and when you need to be in it. We learn your goals, your vision and your budget before anyone talks about a number.

  2. Pre-construction.

Drawings developed and reviewed, selections discussed, the site walked, and a detailed estimate built to the client's vision, goals and budget.

  3. Contract and permits.

Scope of work, final selections, budget, and a schedule of construction are finalized. Contract is signed, deposits received, permits submitted.

  4. Construction.

Your job is run by our team with regular site visits and project updates, inspections, on-site meetings from start to finish.

  5. Close-out.

We walk the building with you, complete punch items, and hand over what you need to run and maintain what we built.

Clients who trusted the process.

We recently worked with Jonathan and JF Construction Group and couldn't be happier with the entire experience. They kept us informed at every single stage of the project, promptly answered all of our questions, and were always transparent about timelines, costs and expectations. The final result is not only stunning and built to last, but the attention to detail is evident in every corner.

Four generations of the same standard.

Building runs in the Fralin family. JH Fralin and Son was founded in 1931. For 70+ years, they delivered countless commercial buildings across the State of Virginia. Work included churches, schools, hospitals, university buildings, and nursing homes across the region. Some local jobs include Northside, Cave Spring and Lord Botetourt High School.

Jonathan Fralin studied at Virginia Tech and spent eight years as a superintendent for a national builder in Richmond before coming home to the Roanoke Valley. He founded JF Construction Group in 2019 to carry that standard forward under his own name.

Every project deserves a personal touch. Yours is priced and run by a small team who stay with it from the first estimate to the final walkthrough.

Questions we get asked first.

What we take on, how a job runs, and what to expect on price and schedule. If your question is not here, call and ask it.

What kinds of projects do you take on?

New commercial construction and build-outs, custom homes, and large remodels and additions. If you are not sure whether yours fits, call and describe it. We would rather hear about the project and tell you honestly than have you rule yourself out.

Where do you build?

Across western and central Virginia: the Roanoke Valley, out east through Bedford to Lynchburg, north to Lexington and Staunton, and west into the New River Valley. If your site sits outside that, call and ask, because the answer depends on the job rather than the distance.

Do we need finished drawings before we call you?

No. We will help you navigate the initial stages of design, and we can be involved well before a set of plans is final. If you already have drawings, send them: we review them, walk the site, and build a detailed estimate against them.

How do you price a project?

A project’s success depends on a methodical planning process. The first aspect of pricing is understanding your goals, your vision and your budget, and developing a detailed estimate against that criteria. You get the scope and the budget together, with the assumptions we priced against written down beside them, so the number can be checked, questioned, and taken to your board or your bank as it stands.

Who runs my job?

We firmly believe that each project deserves a personal touch. All projects are managed by a JF Construction Group employee. We take great pride in the privilege of working with our clients, and we bring a level of professionalism, constant communication, and a personal relationship to each one.

How long will my project take?

We develop a schedule of construction through the pre-construction and contract phases, and it comes to you with the budget. Completion runs from a few days to more than a year, depending on the project’s plans, its specifications, and the municipality’s approval process.

How do we start?

We consider every opportunity a tremendous honor. It starts with a simple conversation to learn about you, your vision and your goals, and we develop a personalized approach and proposal from there. Call, or send whatever you have: drawings, a site address, or just a date you need to be in the building.
